El mejoramiento genético aplicado en la raza Merino Australiano ha logrado reducir significativamente el diámetro de la fibra, incrementar el peso de vellón y el peso
corporal. Sin embargo, la mejora genética de estos rasgos productivos podría impactar desde positiva a negativamente en otros aspectos del desempeño animal. Este artículo presenta las asociaciones genéticas entre características de interés económico para los sistemas de producción con Merino en el Uruguay. |
